Newcastle fans react as Joelinton nets first goal for club

Newcastle United’s record signing Joelinton scored his first goal for the club in their 3-1 win over Hibernian at Easter Road on Tuesday night.

The 22-year-old had his first taste of action for the Magpies in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Preston North End.

The centre-forward made his first start for the club against Hibernian, though, and capped his full debut with a goal in the 16th minute of the contest.

The Brazilian, who scored 11 times for Hoffenheim last season, will be expected to provide for Steve Bruce’s team during the 2019-20 campaign.

It has been a difficult summer for the Newcastle fans for a number of reasons.

However, Joelinton’s goal has certainly raised their spirits, with a number of the club’s supporters taking to social media to show their delight.

Newcastle now only have one more pre-season game against Saint-Etienne this weekend before opening their 2019-20 Premier League campaign at home to Arsenal on August 11, where Joelinton will hope to feature.
