Man United fans don’t want Jesse Lingard to start against Tottenham

Manchester United play host to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday, but Red Devils fans don’t want Jesse Lingard to start.

The 24-year-old has largely appeared from the substitutes’ bench so far this season, but after starting in the defeat to Huddersfield Town last weekend, the forward then scored twice as Jose Mourinho’s men beat Swansea City 2-0 in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night.

That performance has certainly put him in contention to start against a Spurs side that are missing Harry Kane, especially with teammates like Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Juan Mata failing to shine at the moment.

Man United supporters have been having their say on the potential of Lingard starting via social media, and while some sent a message to Mourinho saying “please don’t start him”, others are concerned that he could play “over Martial or Rashford”.
