Liverpool were held to a draw by Newcastle United in an enthralling 3-3 draw at St. James' Park as Slot's men failed to win for only the third time in all competitions this season. Liverpool went into the half-time break one goal down to Eddie Howe's side after Alexander Isak opened the scoring for the Magpies. During the match's broadcast on Prime Video, presenter Walker seemed to imply that Slot had entered the referee's dressing room, which is prohibited by the regulations, to potentially influence the performance of referee Madley.

However, the claim has now been dismissed as Slot only talked 'normally' to Madley in the tunnel at St. James' Park and never entered the referees' dressing room, reports . It has been reported that Prime Video has since issued an apology to Slot and Liverpool for the blunder that they claim was caused by a 'production misunderstanding'.

Newcastle boss Howe was also questioned about Slot's 'trip' to the referees' dressing room but dismissed the incident out of hand immediately, as he preferred to focus on his team's performances. He said: “I don’t think I’ll go there. I think that’s a can of worms. I tend to focus on my team.”

WHAT NEXT FOR SLOT?

Liverpool and the Dutch manager have been reported to have accepted Prime Video's apology on the matter and now consider the issue a thing of the past. Slot's side will now be in action when they take on Everton in the Merseyside derby on Saturday, December 7.
