Leeds fans react to reported £10m Jansson bid being rejected

Leeds United have enjoyed a flying start to the new Championship season, establishing themselves as the early pacesetters in the fight for promotion to the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa’s arrival over the course of the summer has led to significant improvements already and the squad has been rejuvenated with a number of fresh faces – but there was the prospect of a senior player leaving.

According to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay, Leeds rejected an offer in the region of £10m from Russian side Krasnodar for the services of Sweden international Pontus Jansson.

Jansson has impressed at Elland Road in his two years since signing from Torino, a deal that was initially on loan, and represented Sweden at the World Cup – although he is yet to feature this season after returning from Russia with an injury.
