Timo Werner is wanted by a number of Liverpool fans
A number of Liverpool fans have urged sporting director Michael Edwards to bring Germany international Timo Werner to the club.
The 23-year-old, who only signed a new contract with Red Bull Leipzig over the summer, has scored eight times in 13 appearances at club level this season.
What’s more, the centre-forward has managed 69 goals in 127 outings for Leipzig since arriving at the German club from Stuttgart in 2016.
Werner is said to be keen on a move to Anfield, and a number of the club’s supporters are in favour of the deal taking place.
Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have formed arguably the most potent attacking unit in world football over the last 12 months or so.
There is not an awful lot of back-up for the trio at Anfield, though, and the likes of Divock Origi have found it difficult to contribute this season, with the striker managing just one goal in 12 appearances.
